Mud tubes built for traveling above ground
Pinholes in wood framing, drywall or wallpaper
Piles of small wings
Damaged or hollow-sounding wood
Carpenter ants body parts
Small piles of sawdust
Holes in exterior wood trim
Pollen discharge
Other specific termite indicators
Termites and other wood-destroying insects eat wood and can cause significant structural damage to a home. A typical homeowner’s insurance policy does not cover destruction caused by wood-destroying organisms, even though they cause over 1 billion dollars in damage to homes throughout the United States each year.
