Wood Destroying Insect Inspections

Inspections for Infestations

We thoroughly inspect the home, inside and out, looking for signs of infestation. Some of the things we look for are:

  • Mud tubes built for traveling above ground
  • Pinholes in wood framing, drywall or wallpaper
  • Piles of small wings
  • Damaged or hollow-sounding wood
  • Carpenter ants body parts
  • Small piles of sawdust
  • Holes in exterior wood trim
  • Pollen discharge
  • Other specific termite indicators
  • Termites and other wood-destroying insects eat wood and can cause significant structural damage to a home. A typical homeowner’s insurance policy does not cover destruction caused by wood-destroying organisms, even though they cause over 1 billion dollars in damage to homes throughout the United States each year.
